C&C Landfall 39
Description
The C&C Landfall 39 is a Canadian-designed and built center cockpit sailboat, introduced in 1985 as part of C&C Yachts' Landfall series of dedicated cruisers. Designed by the in-house C&C Design team in collaboration with renowned naval architect Robert H. Perry, it represents a shift toward more comfortable, blue water-capable vessels while retaining C&C's performance heritage. Constructed from fiberglass with balsa coring in the hull and deck, it features a masthead sloop rig, a raked stem, near-vertical transom, fixed fin keel, and skeg-mounted spade rudder. Built at C&C's Rhode Island, USA plant, only about 15 examples were produced between 1985 and 1989 before the series ended, making it a rare classic on the used market. The center cockpit layout enhances safety and privacy, enabling a spacious aft cabin, and the design emphasizes long-distance cruising with good stability and interior volume. Note: This model is sometimes confused with the unrelated 1974 Ron Amy-designed Landfall 39 (built in Taiwan by Sino American Yachts, later renamed Vagabond 39), which has a cutter rig, long keel, and pilothouse option but lacks the center cockpit focus.

Disclaimer. Boats are not all the same -- even when produced in the same factory of the same model. Sailrite does its best to publish accurate dimensions, but we often find it worthwhile to have our customers measure their boats carefully before we produce kits for them. You should take the same precautions, especially when the data is not from Sailrite.
