Caliber 45

Caliber 45

Description

The Caliber 45 is a classic American bluewater cruising cutter designed by Michael McCreary. Built by Caliber Yachts in Clearwater, Florida, starting in 1990 (with production continuing sporadically into the mid-1990s), approximately 10–15 hulls were produced, making it a rare and sought-after model in the Caliber lineup. Evolving from the Caliber 40/41 series, it features a robust fiberglass hull with a fin keel and skeg-hung rudder for protected steering and stability, a center cockpit for safety, and a cutter rig for flexible sail plans on long passages. Renowned for its exceptional build quality, dry ride in heavy seas, and liveaboard-friendly volume, it's ideal for couples or small families on extended voyages, with proven circumnavigations under its belt.
