Calico Jack
Description
The Calico Jack skipjack design by J.F. (Joseph F.) Gregory is a notable adaptation of the traditional Chesapeake Bay skipjack, originally a working oyster dredger, reimagined for recreational use. Developed by Gregory, a naval architect from Yorktown, Virginia, this design is detailed in various boating publications and plans, such as those from WoodenBoat Store and 100 Boat Plans. It reflects Gregory's extensive study of 45 working bateaux, incorporating both traditional elements and his own "fudge factors" for enhanced performance and comfort.
