Caliber 40LRC
Description
The Caliber 40 LRC (Long Range Cruiser) is a renowned American bluewater cruising cutter designed by Michael McCreary. Built by Caliber Yachts in Clearwater, Florida, from 1995 to 2006, approximately 140 hulls were produced. It builds on the earlier Caliber 40 with enhanced cruising features like increased tankage, a deeper skeg-hung rudder for better tracking, and a center cockpit for protected helming, all in a solid hand-laid fiberglass hull (Divinycell-cored deck for strength and lightness). Praised for its seaworthiness, dry motion in 15–25 knots, and liveaboard volume, it's a staple for couples on coastal or offshore passages, with many examples having completed circumnavigations.
