Caledonia Yawl 7-Strake Gunter Rig
Description
The Caledonia Yawl 7 Strake Version, also known as the Caledonia Yawl II, is an enhanced iteration of Iain Oughtred's original Caledonia Yawl design, introduced in 1999. This version features a refined hull with seven planks per side (compared to the original's four), offering improved stability, increased displacement, and a slightly different aesthetic while retaining the boat's renowned seaworthiness, versatility, and traditional double-ended charm. Like its predecessor, it is primarily built by amateur constructors using glued-lapstrake plywood and is popular for coastal cruising, rowing, and multi-day "raid" events.

Disclaimer. Boats are not all the same -- even when produced in the same factory of the same model. Sailrite does its best to publish accurate dimensions, but we often find it worthwhile to have our customers measure their boats carefully before we produce kits for them. You should take the same precautions, especially when the data is not from Sailrite.
