Cal 3-24

Description

The Cal 24 built by Bangor Punta refers to the Cal 3-24 (also known as Cal 24-3 or Cal 24 (Hunt)), a trailerable racer-cruiser sailboat designed by C. Raymond Hunt Associates and produced by Cal Yachts—a brand of Jensen Marine, owned by Bangor Punta Corporation—from 1983 to 1985. This model was developed as a replacement for the earlier C. William Lapworth-designed Cal 2-24 (1967–1970s), with the goal of creating a "true blue-water sailboat that could be legally trailerable without special permits." It features a more robust construction suited for offshore capabilities while remaining compact for coastal and short-distance cruising. Approximately 100–150 units were built during its short production run, making it rarer than earlier Cal 24 variants.

Disclaimer. Boats are not all the same -- even when produced in the same factory of the same model. Sailrite does its best to publish accurate dimensions, but we often find it worthwhile to have our customers measure their boats carefully before we produce kits for them. You should take the same precautions, especially when the data is not from Sailrite.
