Buccaneer180

Description

The Buccaneer 180 is a compact, trailerable sailboat produced by Bayliner under its Buccaneer brand, designed as an entry-level daysailer and light cruiser. Built primarily in the mid-1970s, it emphasizes affordability, ease of handling, and basic accommodations suitable for beginners or families learning to sail. Unlike the more performance-oriented Buccaneer 18 (a planning dinghy with racing heritage), the 180 is a fractional-rigged keel/centerboard monohull focused on stability for coastal or lake use rather than speed or one-design competition. It features a small cuddy cabin for gear storage and a kick-up rudder for shallow waters, making it ideal for trailering and beaching.
