Blue Water 30

Description

The Blue Water 30 is a sturdy, full-keel cruising sloop designed for offshore voyaging, built in limited numbers by Reinforced Plastics Co., Ltd., a mid-20th-century American fiberglass boat manufacturer based in Michigan (associated with the Anchor Sailboat Division and later MFG Boat Company). Produced during the early fiberglass boat boom (circa 1960s–1970s), it was marketed as an affordable blue water-capable yacht for coastal and transoceanic passages, emphasizing durability, simplicity, and value for novice cruisers. With a heavy displacement and encapsulated keel, it's known for its seaworthiness in rough conditions, though it's slower in light air compared to modern designs. Approximately 50–100 hulls were built, making it a rare find today, often restored for classic yacht enthusiasts.
