Annapolis 26
Description
The Annapolis 26 is a classic fiberglass cruiser-racer sailboat produced by Tidewater Yachts Inc. in the early 1970s, designed by naval architect William H. Holmes. This 26-foot monohull was created as a versatile day-sailer and weekend cruiser, suitable for coastal waters, lakes, or inland sailing for small crews or families (2–4 people). It features a masthead sloop rig, a fixed fin keel for stability, and a compact cabin with berths for overnighting, emphasizing ease of handling and affordability for beginners or club sailors. The boat's moderate displacement provides a balance of performance and comfort, with good upwind ability but moderate speed overall—ideal for leisurely sails rather than high-performance racing. A later variant (circa 1972) featured an updated interior and coach roof by Brian Clark, with minor cosmetic changes but the same core hull.
