Allmand 35
Description
The Allmand 35 is an American coastal cruising sailboat designed by Walter Scott and built by Allmand Boats Inc. in Hialeah, Florida, from 1981 to 1985. It's a development of the earlier Captiva 35, featuring a heavy-displacement masthead sloop rig with a shoal-draft fin keel for shallow-water access, making it popular for cruising in areas like the Florida Keys, Bahamas, or Intracoastal Waterway. With a wide beam and tri-cabin layout, it offers exceptional interior volume for a 35-footer, sleeping up to 7 comfortably, which appeals to families or liveaboards. A "Raised Cabin" motor sailer version was also available for enhanced visibility and power-assisted sailing. Production was limited (estimated 50–100 units) before the company, originally a powerboat builder, went bankrupt in 1985 amid the sailboat industry recession.
