Alerion Express 38 Yawl

Description

The Alerion Express 38 Yawl is an elegant, high-end fiberglass yawl designed by Carl Schumacher for Alerion Yachts, introduced in 1997 as part of the Alerion Express series, with approximately 50–75 units built through the early 2000s. Drawing from traditional New England yawls like the Concordia series, it features a yawl rig for easier handling and stability, a fin keel with bulb, spade rudder, raked stem, and graceful counter stern with springy sheer. Powered by an inboard diesel (typically Yanmar 3GM30, 27–30 hp), with wheel steering and optional Hoyt Jib Boom for self-tacking jib, it’s optimized for coastal cruising and extended daysailing, blending classic aesthetics with modern performance.
