Albin Viggen 23
Description
The Albin Viggen 23 (also known as the Viggen 23 or Albin Viggen) is a classic Swedish trailerable sailboat designed as a compact cruiser with racing potential, emphasizing simplicity, seaworthiness, and ease of handling for solo or family use. Designed by naval architect Per Brohäll, it was initially produced by Karlskronavarv from 1966 to 1971 (about 300 units), then modified with a refined keel and rudder before Albin Marine took over production from 1972 to 1977 (around 1,130 more units), totaling over 1,430 boats. This masthead sloop features a fin keel with skeg-hung rudder for stable tracking and shallow draft versatility, making it ideal for coastal day sails, club racing, or weekend overnights on lakes and bays.
