Albin Express

Description

The Albin Express is a timeless Swedish-designed fractional-rigged sloop sailboat, renowned as a fast cruiser-racer from the late 1970s. Conceived by acclaimed naval architect Peter Norlin as a half-ton IOR racer, its prototype secured victory in the 1977 Half Ton Cup, blending exhilarating performance with practical overnight accommodations. Produced by Albin Marine in Kristinehamn, Sweden, from 1978 to 1985, approximately 1,000 units were built, establishing it as a staple in Scandinavian club racing and coastal cruising. This lightweight, low-aspect design features a fin keel and spade rudder for agile handling, excelling in light to moderate winds while offering stability in breezes up to 25 knots.
