Alacrity 22 (Alacrity 670, Jaguar 22)
Description
The Alacrity 22 (also known as the Alacrity 670 or Jaguar 22 in later iterations) is a British trailerable sailboat designed as a versatile coastal cruiser and day-sailor. It is essentially the UK-licensed version of the popular American Catalina 22, adapted for the European market through a partnership between Russell Marine Ltd. and Catalina Yachts. First built in 1975, it features a swing keel for shallow-water access and easy trailering, making it ideal for inland waters, estuaries, and short coastal trips. The design emphasizes simplicity, affordability, and family-friendly performance, with a spacious cockpit and basic overnight accommodations. While not built for extended blue water voyages, its stability and ease of handling have made it a favorite among beginners and weekend sailors. Over 200 units were produced in the UK, with variations built under license worldwide, including copies in other countries.

Disclaimer. Boats are not all the same -- even when produced in the same factory of the same model. Sailrite does its best to publish accurate dimensions, but we often find it worthwhile to have our customers measure their boats carefully before we produce kits for them. You should take the same precautions, especially when the data is not from Sailrite.
