1d 35, One Design 35
Description
The 1D 35 (One Design 35) is an American high-performance one-design racing sailboat designed by renowned naval architect Nelson Marek, emphasizing speed, simplicity, and affordability for club and offshore racing. Built by Carroll Marine Ltd. from 1998 to 2001, it was conceived as a trailerable racer to fill the gap between smaller one-designs like the J/105 and larger offshore boats, with a focus on fun, competitive fleets for buoy racing or distance events. The design features a lightweight fiberglass hull, carbon mast, and innovative non-overlapping headsail rig (100% jib) for easy handling, controlled by a hydraulic forestay adjuster instead of backstays. Production was limited to about 30 units, making it rare today; it's out of production but supported by owner communities.

Disclaimer. Boats are not all the same -- even when produced in the same factory of the same model. Sailrite does its best to publish accurate dimensions, but we often find it worthwhile to have our customers measure their boats carefully before we produce kits for them. You should take the same precautions, especially when the data is not from Sailrite.
