11' Sailing Dinghy

Description

The 11' Sailing Dinghy (Design Number 149) is a classic small craft designed by naval architect Jay Benford in 1977. Originally conceived as part of the development process for the 11' Oregon Peapod, this double-ender dinghy features graceful, traditional lines with an alternative transom stern version available. It was inspired by a client's request for a line of dinghies, evolving from a planned larger version of Benford's 8' Portland Yawlboat. The transom stern variant was later completed for another client as a tender to a 50-foot yacht of Benford's design, where it was praised as a "delightful boat." The dinghy is well-suited for both rowing and sailing, serving effectively as a yacht tender or standalone daysailer.
